Background

Konica Minolta is a global leader in the provision of imaging and optical products ranging from printing and photographic devices through to medical imagery devices.

As a future focused company it’s important for Konica Minolta to stay ahead of market trends and developments.  The desire to keep innovating in cutting-edge technology led the organisation to create a Centre of Innovation responsible for designing the solutions of tomorrow.

Konica Minolta, like other companies, is facing a highly competitive talent market, and wanted to identify a location which with access to well educated and technically skilled professionals

The Challenge

Konica Minolta engaged talent.ai to identify individuals with specific expertise in needed areas of capability including Cloud, Cyber Security and Robotics

Creating technology talent pools within Italy enabled talent.ai to ongoingly identify and then engage passive talent whom had never previously considered Konica Minolta as a potential employer.

How we did it

talent.ai’s unique resources and methodology enable us to become expert at identifying talent pools within pre-defined global locations

By embedding a Talent Success Manager we worked from the inside in Rome in order to truly understand the “true DNA” of inquisitive talent that Konica Minolta needed.

Using experience in talent identification, data analysis, employer branding, and extensive research we engaged a diverse number of talents that were then further qualified as possible founding team members of European R&D Innovation Lab.

How does that look?

  • Created a Talent Mapping strategy that backed the selection of Italy as a base for the new lab
  • Built a team of more than 12 people, from highly specialized scientific fields, all identified from within our targeted talent pools
  • Re-Engineered the hiring process in order for Konica Minolta to be ready to hire cutting-edge technology and global expansion

Why it works?

  • Konica needed a solution for identifying relevant locations when citing a new R&D lab. Once the location was legitimized, Konica relied on specific Talent Intelligence to create a hiring pipeline of talent.
  • talent.ai embeds our team directly with our client to deeply understand their needs, create tailor-made strategies, and is experienced in location-based talent identification.
  • Konica Minolta were able to utilize Talent.ai Intelligence to identify a largely untapped pool of talent in the chosen location. Konica were then able to build a multi-disciplined R&D team ahead of schedule and consequently have the team operational, far faster by utilizing talent.ai
